Job description

As a Team Lead Product Owner, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Product Owners within our Scrum-based product organization. You will work closely with development, design, marketing, and top-management to ensure the successful development and delivery of high-quality features of our products. You will play a key role in defining the product vision and strategy with our CEO and founder, ensuring it meets customer needs and aligns with the company’s business objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of Product Owners, ensuring they have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities within the Scrum framework. Foster a collaborative and self-organizing team culture, promoting effective communication, continuous learning, and innovation. Support and mentor Product Owners in their professional development, helping them enhance their skills in product management, Agile practices, and Scrum.

 

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate the product vision, goals, and success criteria. Lead the team in refining and maintaining the product backlog, ensuring user stories are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized according to business value and customer needs. Continuously monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy and make data-driven decisions.

 

  • Agile Product Development: Facilitate the Scrum ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure effective collaboration and progress towards product goals. Collaborate closely with the Scrum Master to remove any impediments that may impact the team’s ability to deliver high-quality products within the sprint timelines. Work with the development and design teams to provide clarifications, insights, and guidance on product requirements, ensuring a shared understanding of the desired outcomes.

 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, including customers and executives, to gather feedback, understand market needs, and incorporate insights into the product backlog and prioritization. Communicate product updates, progress, and releases to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with their expectations. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, actively seeking opportunities to solicit their input, build trust, and gather insights to drive continuous improvement.

About you

  • Previous experience as a Product Owner Lead or similar role in an Agile product organization using Scrum methodology.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and inspire a team of Product Owners.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum framework, and product development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using Agile product management tools, such as Jira or similar software.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to leverage data and metrics to drive product decisions.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and practices to create user-centric product experiences.
  • Continuous learning mindset, keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Agile and product management. 
  • Degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, business, or engineering (preferred).
